Dian let the cool breeze wash over him as he sorted through his thoughts.

Two days had passed since his call with Rumi.

Remembering her expression, he couldn't help smiling. He had actually known all along that Ralts was the Pokémon the Pokémon Ranger Union had prepared for him. He had merely pretended not to know.

After all, he wouldn't have been able to see her moves if she weren't his Pokémon.

Ralts—Psychic type, Fairy type. The Feeling Pokémon. When she senses the warmth of humans or Pokémon through her red horns, her whole body grows slightly warmer. Ability: Telepathy. Moves: Growl, Confusion, Double Team, Teleport, Calm Mind, Protect, Safeguard, Petrify, Skill Swap, Synchronoise, Ally Switch.

Looking at the data before him, Dian once again appreciated the Pokémon Ranger Union's skill in raising Pokémon. This Ralts leaned toward Psychic powers, and she was an exceptionally good match for him.

Her egg move, Petrify, was probably meant to hold off enemies at close range. Skill Swap served two purposes: supporting his research and shaking off troublesome enemies pursuing him.

Ally Switch was there to compensate for Teleport's limitations, since some Pokémon lacked the strength to carry a person with them when teleporting.

Synchronoise was meant to inflict as much damage as possible on Psychic-type and Fairy-type enemies, both of which were often difficult to deal with.

Her ability to use Calm Mind was presumably the result of deliberate instruction by the Pokémon Ranger Union. They had also taken into account his likely lack of experience raising Psychic-type Pokémon.

All of this analysis pointed to one conclusion: the Pokémon Ranger Union had raised this Ralts specifically for him, a Pokémon Ranger.
