As Dian and Arcanine disappeared, the scenery around the cave suddenly warped like a mirage, then dissolved into a hazy cloud of smoke that slowly drifted away.
As the smoke cleared, a humanoid Pokémon appeared at the cave entrance, wearing an elegant, adorable pink diamond tiara and a white dress. She blinked her ruby-like eyes at the mysterious red object on the ground.
"Was that a human just now? The minister told me not to go near them."
Diancie, princess of the Diamond Domain, tapped her lips. "But what is this?"
She studied the red object at her feet with curiosity.
Diancie circled the red Pokédex twice, carefully avoiding touching it.
The Diamond Minister had warned her never to touch unknown things carelessly.
"Wait, unknown things are things that turn up for no reason, right? But this is an offering, which means it hasn't turned up for no reason."
Diancie murmured to herself, "Since it hasn't turned up for no reason, that means I can touch it!"
With that, she immediately picked up the Pokédex and examined it closely.
