Only after the exam ended did Roland sneak back, only to be caught red-handed by Batman.
"Where did you sneak off to slack off this time?" Batman asked.
"I wasn't slacking off. I had something to take care of," Roland said. "I saw a cat crossing the road—"
"Oh, shut up," Batman snapped. "You could at least come up with a decent excuse."
"Who says it's an excuse? I really did see a cat." A girl walked in behind Roland: Catgirl, Katrina Falcone.
Her clothes were stained a dark, bloody red, but there were no visible injuries on her body.
"What—what happened?" Batman looked at his sister-in-law in confusion.
"She ran into a murderer and got shot," Roland explained. "I've already healed her, but it was a pretty close call."
"Oh, I see." Batman frowned. "Who was this murderer?"
"I don't know." Katrina shook her head. "I just saw him kill someone. I got careless while chasing him and got hurt. I almost didn't get away."
"Hmm?" Batman thought it over. Like Selina, Katrina was a master escape artist. It was hard to believe an ordinary criminal could have put her in such a tight spot.
"But it all worked out in the end, so it's not a big deal—" Katrina said. "If there's nothing else, I'll be going."
"If I hadn't been there, you might already have ascended to kitty heaven." Roland rolled his eyes at her. "I suggest letting Selina teach her a good lesson."
"Sounds good to me." Batman nodded.
