"Ah! P-Professor McGonagall, what are you doing here?"
Minerva McGonagall's expression darkened. "What a professor does is not a student's business. Go back to the Castle. And Mr. Weasley, hand in a thousand-word reflection before class on Monday."
"What?"
Minerva McGonagall pressed her lips together and looked at the other three. Before she could announce their punishment, Luo Bin spoke up. "Ron accidentally knocked over a teapot and spilled water everywhere. Harry used magic to clean it up before Filch had to mop the floor. We came to the Hunting Grounds to see Hagrid."
"Hagrid? He isn't feeling well. Go back and let him rest!"
Just as Luo Bin had predicted, bringing up Hagrid had spared them a thousand-word reflection.
"If Hagrid isn't well, that's all the more reason to visit him!"
Harry was so intent on seeing Hagrid that he failed to notice the change in Minerva McGonagall's mood.
"It's nothing serious, just a mild cold. He's drunk a large jar of potion. After a good sleep, he'll feel much better tomorrow. Go on back!"
"But..."
Hermione tugged at Harry's sleeve and shot him a frantic look, telling him to listen to Professor McGonagall.
"All right, then."
Minerva McGonagall watched the four of them closely until they entered the library.
"Why did Professor McGonagall stop us from visiting Hagrid?"
On the way, Harry worked out what had seemed strange.
"Professor McGonagall rarely goes to the Hunting Grounds. She must have talked to Hagrid about something, and she doesn't want us to know what it was."
Hermione nodded.
"Why am I always the unlucky one? A thousand words! A whole thousand-word reflection! I... Hermione..."
Hermione raised a hand to cut Ron off. "Stop right there. Don't even think about asking me to write it for you!"
