After Madam Pomfrey had loaded everything onto the cart, she prepared to wheel it away.
"Madam Pomfrey, could something else have caused Ginny's condition? For example..."
"For example?"
Madam Pomfrey stopped and looked at Luo Bin with curiosity and expectation. She wanted to know what the top student in his year thought of Ginny's condition.
"For example... a strange illness, an insect inside her body that releases sleep-inducing pheromones, or someone using a secret technique to strip away her soul, layer by layer!"
Ron burst out laughing.
Before Madam Pomfrey could speak, Ron said, "Luo Bin, have you been reading too many horror stories? Only you could come up with someone stealing her soul!"
Unlike Ron, who was clutching his stomach with laughter, Madam Pomfrey looked grave.
She furrowed her brow and lowered her eyes in thought. At last, she answered with complete seriousness, "Robin Sear, the things you mentioned could indeed cause these symptoms. I think... it would be best not to discharge Ginny Weasley tomorrow."
"What?! It can't be that serious!"
"There's no harm in keeping her here for observation. We can record how often she falls into deep sleep and how long it lasts. If something has simply exhausted her, we can address it promptly and help her recover."
"But... if it really is as Robin suspects, I'll write to an old classmate of mine. He works at the largest magical hospital in London, where the medical facilities are far better than at Hogwarts."
"Uh, all right. When Ginny wakes up, I'll call Percy, Fred, and George over. If all four of us question her, she'll have to tell the truth!"
"Ron, four of you ganging up on her? Do you think she stays awake too long as it is? Perhaps a change of surroundings would help."
