Ron's eyes widened. The conclusion had clearly stunned him.
"That's what I thought, too!"
"Then what are we waiting for? If we're too late, we might never see Ginny again!"
Ron spun around, opened the classroom door, and rushed out. Luo Bin and Harry hurried after him.
The three had barely reached the corridor when the Loudspeaker on the wall crackled with Professor Minerva McGonagall's stern voice. Magic amplified it tenfold, making their eardrums ache.
[All students, listen carefully. Return to your house dormitories immediately under the guidance of your Prefects, and lock the doors. All teachers, stop what you're doing and report to the Staff Room at once. Everyone, move now.]
Ron jerked his head up and stared at the Loudspeaker as the announcement continued. Something else had happened in the Castle, something even worse than a student being petrified by the Chamber Monster!
"Ginny. Please don't let it be Ginny."
"Luo Bin, what do we do? Should we find Professor McGonagall and the others and tell them about the Chamber of Secrets?"
"First we need to find out what happened. Come on, this way!"
Luo Bin led the way, with Harry and Ron behind him. Avoiding the crowds, the three reached the corner near the Staff Room.
"Should we go in?"
Harry asked.
"Getting in is easy. Getting out won't be. Once the door closes, we'll press up against it and listen."
"Okay!"
Soon, the teachers entered the Staff Room one after another.
Some looked bewildered, with no
