"If it wasn't a dragonfly, what was it?"

Charlie rubbed his chin in puzzlement.

"Charlie, I counted twenty-three bloody holes in all, and not one has scabbed over. Either whatever hurt the Dragon Lion carries some kind of toxin that prevents blood from clotting, or..."

Hagrid left his sentence unfinished, but everyone present, including Edward, understood what he was implying.

"Hey, big fellow, what's that supposed to mean? I admit I haven't done everything right in looking after Alinda, but the wounds on her neck have absolutely nothing to do with me."

Well, they hadn't even figured out what had happened, and he was already rushing to clear his name. Apparently, not everyone at the research base was a devoted dragon enthusiast.

"We can investigate whether a magical beast or a wizard hurt the Dragon Lion later. Right now, treating her wounds comes first. I tried ordinary ointment just now, but it couldn't stop the bleeding."

Every bloody hole was as wide as a thumb. Luckily, Alinda was enormous, or those wounds would have killed her.

"Wait here. I'll fetch Gamba, the dragon doctor."

Despite the emergency, Edward still insisted on walking elegantly. Unable to stand his affected manner, Charlie shoved him aside and sprinted toward the dragon hospital.

"Rude! The Weasley family is utterly rude!"

Edward got up from the ground and complained petulantly, his hands on his hips. Then he turned and stared reproachfully at Luo Bin and Hagrid, seemingly blaming them for not joining him in scolding Charlie.

Luo Bin and Hagrid couldn't be bothered with him. They stayed beside the Dragon Lion, comforting the injured Alinda!

Before long, Charlie returned with a red-haired man carrying a large medicine chest. Without even stopping to wipe away his sweat, the man dropped to his knees beside Alinda's neck
