A Dragon Ride Through the Sky

"Oh! Mr. Edward, why is the skin on the back of your neck so red? Did Norbert's wings blow a branch into you?" Luo Bin widened his eyes and feigned surprise.

Edward's little mirror was no help when it came to the back of his neck. The more he touched it, the more he felt a burning sting in one spot.

Hagrid caught Luo Bin's signal and piled on. "Stop scratching! You'll only make it redder. Go put some ointment on it. If you miss the best time to treat it, it might leave a mark and ruin your looks!"

A mark on the back of his neck was hardly going to ruin his looks, was it?

But Edward cared deeply about his appearance, and all he could think of were the words ruin your looks. With several loud cries of "Ah!", he clutched the back of his neck and ran off.

"Hagrid, now no one's here to interrupt our reunion with Norbert!"

Hagrid tilted his head. "I suppose not!"

Hagrid wrapped his arms around Norbert's neck and told him everything that had happened in the Hunting Grounds over the past few months. Meanwhile, Luo Bin opened can after can, slapped each one on the bottom, and sent its entire contents into the Dragon's mouth. He took no credit for the food, telling Norbert outright that Draco had sent it all.

Norbert was happier than he could remember. It felt as though he had gone back to his childhood, when someone fed him, played with him, wiped him clean when he got dirty, and filled his ears with his dragon mother's chatter.

He was grown up now. It was time to give something back!
