Hagrid Was Falsely Accused

At six that evening, a notice went up on the bulletin board: all trips outside the base were suspended, including supply runs. That night, Wizards in fitted clothes patrolled outside the animal enclosures, Wands in hand.

The same thing continued for the next two weeks!

One day, Hagrid stormed back to the Dormitory, grumbling about Flersan's penny-pinching ways.

"A palm-sized piece of mole skin went missing from the shop, and he insists I took it. Now he wants me to pay him a Galleon. Does he think he can push me around just because I'm easygoing?"

Mole skin was hardly rare. A piece that size was worth half a Knut at most. Flersan was taking advantage of an outsider!

"Hagrid, tell me exactly what happened. I'll go to the Tailor Shop tomorrow and set things straight. No one gets to frame someone from Hogwarts!"

"Exactly! What they're doing smears Hogwarts. Luo Bin, you're clever. Help me work out who stole the leather. Here's what happened..."

Hagrid was strong and honest. He never complained when he was given the heavy work. Even when Flersan made things difficult for him again and again, he kept quiet and rearranged the stock. Chels couldn't bear to watch, so he helped Hagrid sort it and quietly taught him a few tricks for displaying different fabrics.

As the Tailor Shop was about to close, Flersan checked the accounts against his little notebook. When half a piece of mole skin leather was missing from the section Hagrid handled, he demanded a Galleon in compensation.
