Edward curled his lip and lifted his coffee. He had just been about to take a token sip when someone shoved his arm.
In an instant, coffee splashed all over his chest!
"Robin Sear, you really have a gift. Every time I set aside our class differences and try to be your friend, you find some new way to pull a stunt."
A sharp glint flashed through Mr. Flersan's cloudy eyes. He said humbly, "I'm sure he didn't mean to. I'll make another cup."
"I did mean to. Edward, are your nostrils clogged with cocoa beans? You can't smell poison that strong?"
"What? Poison?!"
Edward jumped half a meter into the air. He threw his jacket and handkerchief to the floor, then pointed his gilded Wand between the white-haired old man's eyes.
"Flersan, I never thought you could be so vicious. You actually tried to poison someone as innocent, kind, brave, and righteous as me!"
Robin had seen people sing their own praises, but never with such a straight face!
"Mr. Edward, why would you take a child's joke seriously? Poison?! What poison?"
Flersan picked up Edward's cup and drained the remaining coffee. He even smacked his lips, savoring its exquisite taste.
"Robin Sear, you tricked me again!"
Edward clenched his fists and ground out the words through his teeth.
"Mr. Flersan, what you just did only confirms my suspicion!"
In a flash, Robin pulled out a Small Silver Sword and drove it through Flersan's hand.
Sizzle!
Sizzle!
Wisps of white smoke rose. Edward raised his Wand again.
"He... he's a Vampire!"
"Oh! You found me out!"
After a few rasping laughs, Flersan shed his disguise. His short body shriveled like a dead branch, his eyes bulged, and two sharp fangs gleamed a sickening yellow-brown.
"You still have a heartbeat?"
