"Pages 26 through 30 were clearly torn out. Ager, Edward, Robin, I had a bad feeling about this. Whatever drove the Wizards out of the base might still be hiding inside!" Hagrid said with a frown.

"Rubeus Hagrid, I disagree. I spent three days looking around the base and didn't find anything dangerous!"

Luo Bin agreed with Hagrid. "Ager, you searched for three days and found nothing but a battered notebook. There's nothing left to investigate here. We should think about how to get home!"

"Exactly, Ager! There's a time for exploring, and this isn't it. Let's go. I stink!"

Norbert came over too, grunting as he urged them to leave. After a moment's thought, Ager said, "All right. Give me a minute to pack my things."

"I'll come with you!"

Edward knew his friend well. Ager looked like a rough, scruffy guy, but he never went without his razor, face masks, skin-care products, or hair gel.

Even in the worst conditions, he took meticulous care of himself.

Ager was Edward's friend, after all. Luo Bin could well imagine the two of them causing more trouble, so he offered to go along. Hagrid stayed behind with Norbert.

Inside the Experimental Base, the corridors and rooms were rounded, almost like a wormhole. Luo Bin and Edward followed Ager through a maze of turns to an enormous bedroom.

A soft silk quilt covered an antique copper bed. Toiletries and a potted plant sat on a curved dark-brown desk, with a notebook and Quill tucked in a drawer. A small, delicate bedside lamp cast a warm glow.

Had Ager made this place his dormitory?
