Subduing the Three Thousand Burning Flame and Emerging from Seclusion

Outside the Star Domain, Xuan Kongzi and the other two hurried forward when they saw Qiu Ling emerge.

"Elder Qiu Ling, how did it go?" Xuan Kongzi asked, a trace of urgency in his expression.

Xuan Yi, Tian Leizi, and everyone nearby turned to Qiu Ling.

"I delivered Elder Xiao Yan safely. When I left, the Three Thousand Burning Flame was stable, with no sign of erupting," Qiu Ling said after catching his breath.

Everyone breathed a sigh of relief.

Even so, Xuan Kongzi did not let down his guard. He had dealt with the Three Thousand Burning Flame many times and knew just how troublesome it was.

For the time being, not only would these people remain on watch, but the three leaders would also stay to guard against anything unexpected.

He bowed to the crowd. "I'm sorry to ask so much of you over the coming days. You have my thanks for your efforts."

Everyone returned the bow, determination shining in their eyes.

And so, under the leadership of Xuan Kongzi, Xuan Yi, and Tian Leizi, the group kept constant watch outside the Star Domain.

They maintained that vigil for an entire month. To their surprise, there was not the slightest disturbance inside the Star Domain. It was unnervingly quiet.

"Why is it so quiet?" Tian Leizi wondered.

He had expected Xiao Yan to fight the Three Thousand Burning Flame for hundreds of rounds, overpower it, and finally subdue it.

Yet since Xiao Yan had entered, there had not been so much as a peep from the Star Domain. It hardly made sense.

"That might be a good thing," Xuan Kongzi said, patting Tian Leizi on the shoulder.

By now, his expression was no longer as grave as it had been at first, and the mood had relaxed
