The four women were Cai Lin, Cai Die, Xiao Yi Xian, and Ya Fei.
"S-sister, am I seeing things? Is that my brother-in-law?" Cai Die rubbed her reddening eyes, hardly able to believe them.
Cai Lin, Xiao Yi Xian, and Ya Fei all nodded. Their beautiful eyes stayed fixed on Xiao Yan, tears glimmering in them.
The man they had longed for day and night had finally appeared before them. None of them could contain their emotions.
They landed in front of Xiao Yan, their eyes full of tenderness.
Seeing them, Xiao Yan opened his arms to all four women. "I'm back," he said gently.
Cai Die was the liveliest. Unable to hold herself back, she was the first to throw herself into Xiao Yan's arms, rubbing her head hard against his chest. "I missed you so much, Brother-in-law!"
Xiao Yan stroked her head, his face full of affection.
He looked at Xiao Yi Xian next. Her face was bright red. She wanted to step forward, but the gazes around them stopped her.
"What, shy because everyone's watching?" Xiao Yan teased with a smile.
Hai Bodong and Yao Tianhuo knew how to read the room. They tactfully turned away, giving them some space.
"You... you!" Xiao Yi Xian's face grew even redder at his teasing.
"Come here." Xiao Yan grinned. With his free arm, he wrapped a hand around Xiao Yi Xian's slender waist and gently pulled her into his embrace.
"Ah!" Xiao Yi Xian cried out.
A moment later, that long-missed sense of safety washed over her, and she relaxed into it.
"Bad Xiao Yan. You're still so bad..." she murmured, though her expression was one of utter contentment.
