Yang Que spread one hand, and a crimson flame appeared in his palm. It was the flame he had gained from cultivating the Burning Art.

He tossed it onto the materials. The pile before him began to hiss and crackle!

The materials came in all shapes and sizes: stones containing energy, bones from unknown beasts...

Yang Que controlled the flame with the Burning Art and began refining an Array Compass according to the memories in his mind.

The materials slowly melted into droplets of liquid under the flame. Before long, once every piece had liquefied, Yang Que gave a low shout. "Condense!"

The different liquids suspended in midair suddenly flowed together, and a flash of light burst forth.

Another half hour passed. The liquid in the flames had taken shape as a round compass.

Yang Que smiled at it. He had finally refined it successfully. Only one step remained: imprint the formation from the Spirit Paper onto it, and the job would be done.

But that last step was the most crucial. One mistake, and the formation drawn on the Spirit Paper would be ruined.

Yang Que focused every ounce of his attention. Even with his inherited memories, this was no easy task. If anything, it was just as difficult.

He carefully wrapped the Spirit Paper in Soul Power and guided it into the flames. The instant it touched the compass, he sharply intensified the fire, keeping the heat within precisely the range required.

As the flames continued to scorch it, the Spirit Paper slowly burned away to nothing. The formation once drawn upon it had somehow appeared on the compass.

Yang Que finally breathed a sigh of relief. Success!

Now he only needed to keep it in the flames for another ten minutes!
