A flash of white light swept past, and Yang Que stepped into the illusion array.
The people hesitating outside were all surprised to see another person enter.
"Another one with a death wish."
"Looks like this guy's with that group we saw outside earlier."
"Hey, you're right. Black robe, ghost mask... he really does look like one of those people too ashamed to show their faces."
"Heh. Better if he dies in there. Once the barrier disappears, we can see whether his face really is that hideous."
Inside the illusion array, Yang Que found nothing around him. Even the five people he had seen in the array from outside had vanished.
A sudden flash of white light blinded him. When he opened his eyes again, he found himself sitting in a classroom. The teacher lecturing at the podium was none other than Teacher Chen, whom he knew so well. Teacher Chen was speaking animatedly about a problem in Advanced Mathematics.
And sitting in front of him was still the girl he had once secretly adored!
What a familiar scene. He almost missed it: the familiar teacher, the familiar classroom, and that most familiar stranger. Every detail battered Yang Que's mind, leaving him dizzy. For a moment, he wanted to stay here and never go back.
So this is an illusion array? Not bad. Too bad that's all in the past. I'm not the person I used to be...
