Background and History

Yingying is Chen Yiming’s younger sister. A diligent student with excellent grades, she prefers reading to physical activity. As unrest reaches East Lake City, her family decides she should no longer travel home alone 1 3 38.

After recovering Mutated Beast meat during a City Patrol assignment, Yiming decides to use it to support Yingying’s martial-arts training. She protests that she lacks talent, but accompanies him to his swordsmanship class. Her difficulty with even the basic moves leaves her embarrassed and briefly considering giving up; Yiming reassures her and begins supervising her morning practice 37 38 39 40.

Yiming later asks Old Wang to plan a diet of Mutated Beast meat for her foundation and enrolls her in daytime swordsmanship classes at the Libei Martial Arts Training Center. She worries about the expense but promises to work hard. When the family moves to Quiet Lake Residential Community, Yiming gives her the apartment’s large balcony for morning practice 41 42.

Personality

Yingying is considerate and modest. She heats breakfast for Yiming before his first day at the academy, praises his admission, and initially resists accepting spending money from him. When she sees him fighting outside the family restaurant, her first question is whether he is hurt 9 10 23 27.

She is reluctant to train and sensitive about her poor performance, but follows Yiming’s instruction and commits to working harder after learning what he is spending on her training 38 39 40 41.
