Background / History

The Haotian Mirror is the Dao-proving artifact of Haotian Shangdi. Ancient records identify Haotian Shangdi as the first known being to transcend beyond the Other Shore; after pollution descended upon the Chaos Sea, he burned himself out to purge the calamity and isolate the Polluted Land. His divine weapon subsequently became an artifact above the Other Shore. 552

Dao Xing Heavenly Venerate gave a different account of the mirror’s final purpose: when Haotian Shangdi fell, he intended to condense all of himself into the Haotian Mirror to cleanse the Sea of Chaos. The mirror was later damaged and scattered across different worlds. 495 496

Dao Xing had recovered most of the broken artifact over millions of years, but deliberately broke off and cast one small fragment into the Vast Continent to test whether it would choose Qin Zheng. The fragment did so, and Qin Zheng retained control of it even when it encountered the main body. 496

After Dao Xing transferred the nearly complete mirror to Qin Zheng, Qin Zheng searched the Nine Yang Realm for its remaining core fragments. He completed the restoration by taking the final fragment from Hao Wuji of the Haotian Divine Clan. 497 500 503 506

Appearance

The Haotian Mirror is an ancient bronze mirror that emits clear or divine light when activated. While incomplete, its surface bore visible gaps and chips; after restoration, it carried an ancient, perfect aura. 495 497 506
