"The Uchiha Clan should all die. This has to be their plot to lure away the Jinchūriki. Someone, keep Uchiha Yin under watch. Tell me at once if he does anything unusual."

"If he leaves Konoha, take the final measure immediately."

"Yes, Lord Danzo."

The Root operative withdrew.

"The Uchiha Clan dares to covet the Nine-Tails. Unforgivable."

Danzo spoke with a sinister edge.

Danzo's relationship with the Uchiha Clan was even worse than Hiruzen Sarutobi's.

Having fully embraced Tobirama Senju's extreme views, Danzo was always thinking of ways to eliminate the Uchiha Clan.

And Danzo had twisted Kushina Uzumaki's confession to Uchiha Yin into an attempt by the Uchiha Clan to get their hands on the Nine-Tails Jinchuriki.

Shimura Danzō and Hiruzen Sarutobi really were old teammates. Even the stories they cooked up in their heads were remarkably alike.

"Uchiha Yin, can we walk home together after school?"

After school, Kushina Uzumaki walked up to Uchiha Yin, fidgeting as she asked.

It took some nerve for Kushina Uzumaki to bring it up herself.

Kushina Uzumaki was not the sort to warm up to people quickly. Besides, Uchiha Yin had only just turned down her proposal, so she still felt awkward around him.

Don't say no. If you dare turn me down, you're dead.

Kushina Uzumaki looked shy on the outside, but that was what she was thinking.

If Uchiha Yin rejected Kushina Uzumaki again, she could not guarantee she would keep her temper.

"Do you know where I live? Are you sure my place is on your way home?"

Uchiha Yin asked Kushina Uzumaki with a hint of amusement.

After all this time, Uchiha Yin could tell that Kushina Uzumaki seemed to be trying to get close to him, and her initial confession had definitely not been of her own free will.

That was one reason Uchiha Yin had turned her down at first.

Children could never hide their feelings well, and Kushina Uzumaki had made hers especially obvious.

But why? Uchiha Yin had thought about it for a long time. Could Kushina Uzumaki really have fallen for me?

Uchiha Yin found that hard to believe. Kushina Uzumaki was not like Sakura, the sort of lovestruck girl who would fall for him at first sight.

But apart from that, Uchiha Yin could not imagine why Kushina Uzumaki would try to get close to him.

And unlike her initial confession, Kushina Uzumaki seemed to have invited him to walk home with her of her own free will.

Since he could not figure it out, Uchiha Yin decided not to dwell on it. He might as well assume Kushina Uzumaki had been won over by his charm.

"Well, I don't really know."

Kushina Uzumaki looked embarrassed too.

She had only just arrived. How could she possibly know which way Uchiha Yin lived?
