Right now, all she knew was which direction Grandma Mito's house was in.

But the teasing look on Uchiha Yin's face made Kushina Uzumaki bristle with embarrassment.

"Are you coming home with me or not?!"

Kushina Uzumaki glared at him and snapped.

Then, to her surprise, Uchiha Yin gently smoothed her hair.

Is my red hair really that ugly?

Does he hate my hair, just like they do?

Kushina Uzumaki's expression dimmed at the thought.

What those brats had said had hurt her badly, so she hadn't even noticed how gently Uchiha Yin had touched her hair.

She even thought that if Uchiha Yin dared mock her hair, she would teach him a lesson.

Just like anyone else who tried to bully her.

"Your hair is beautiful, actually. This pure red is my favorite. So don't let anyone pull your hair again, okay?"

Uchiha Yin spoke softly. Then, without waiting for Kushina Uzumaki's response, he turned and walked away.

"Come on. I live in the Uchiha Clan compound. If you're staying in the Senju Clan compound, we should be going the same way."

Kushina Uzumaki watched Uchiha Yin walk away, deeply moved.

Is my hair really beautiful?

Kushina Uzumaki lowered her head and murmured to herself, a smile spreading across her face.

Maybe Uchiha Yin isn't so bad after all.

"Wait for me!"

Kushina Uzumaki hurried after him.

Chapter 12: I'm a Genin. Pretty Impressive, Right?

The Uchiha Clan and Senju Clan compounds were both in Konoha's busiest district.

As Konoha's two most powerful clans, they seemed to be competing even in this: their compounds were only two streets apart.

So Uchiha Yin had been right. They were going the same way.

Kushina Uzumaki watched Uchiha Yin walking ahead of her, feeling a little awkward.

All her earlier fire had vanished.

After hearing Uchiha Yin praise her hair, Kushina Uzumaki's opinion of him had changed completely.

She didn't even realize that her resistance to her system task had dropped to almost nothing.

But that only made it harder for her to figure out what to say to Uchiha Yin.

After all, they had only just met. They hadn't known each other before, and Kushina Uzumaki knew nothing about him.
