Chapter 20

"How is that possible?"

The young man was much taller than Uchiha Yin, yet Yin held his fist firmly without the slightest strain. The young man tried to pull his hand free, only to find it locked in place.

What a weak Genin. He's probably no stronger than Naruto was right after graduation!

Yin had hoped to use this Genin to test his abilities without activating the Sharingan. He hadn't expected the guy to be so weak.

Yin lost interest and punched the young man in the stomach.

Bam!

The young man flew backward, hit the ground, and lost consciousness.

"Ah! A monster!"

The little brat grabbed his brother by the leg and fled as fast as he could. The young man's head kept knocking against the ground, making Yin wince just watching.

That kid might seriously injure his own brother. Hopefully his head will be all right.

Yin's mouth twitched at the thought.

Tomorrow is the Mid-Autumn Festival, so I'd like to wish everyone a happy holiday in advance.

I'll be visiting relatives for dinner tomorrow and may be busy all day, with little time to write. If I do get the chance, it'll probably be late at night. Sorry about that.

I'll do my best to write another chapter or two tonight. Sorry, and I hope you understand.

Chapter 13: You're Really Something

"Thank you, Uchiha Yin. They must have come here to give me trouble."

Kushina Uzumaki smiled, her eyes narrowing into crescents.

That Genin had seemed weak to Yin, but only because Yin was so strong.

To Kushina, the Genin was quite powerful. With his speed and the force of his attacks, she doubted she could beat him.

More importantly, Yin had stepped forward to protect her.

The brat's brother had clearly come looking for trouble with her, but Yin had taken him on by himself.

Kushina felt what it was like to be protected, and it felt wonderful.

I'm not alone in Konoha anymore.

The thought made Kushina even happier.

"No need to thank me. I just wanted to see how I measured up against a Genin. I didn't expect him to be so weak. He must be one of the weakest."

Yin spoke calmly, as though stating a fact. But the smile on his face showed that Kushina's gratitude pleased him.

In truth, Yin was quite happy to have her thanks.

If he hadn't had so much to worry about, and if he'd been strong enough, Yin would have accepted Kushina's confession right from the start.

For now, this is fine. There shouldn't be any problem with us being good friends.
