Naruto: They Have a System

There was no time to cook breakfast, so Uchiha Yin stopped at a breakfast shop on his way to school, as usual.

But when he thought back to Uchiha Mikoto's smile, he had a bad feeling.

It should have been a warm smile, yet somehow he had sensed something distinctly calculating behind it.

She hasn't snapped again, has she?

Uchiha Yin had noticed when Mikoto woke up. Her arms and legs had gone visibly stiff for an instant. How could he have missed it?

But he had not called her out. If she got too embarrassed, she might turn into the terrifying big sister she had been last night and pin him down again.

When Mikoto's embarrassment reached its limit, she snapped. Maybe that was part of his sister's charm.

Now it looked as though she had snapped again. Did she realize I knew she was awake?

Better get out of here. She should be fine by tonight.

At the Ninja Academy, the Chunin instructor was recounting the great deeds of the Hokage through the generations.

Most of the students listened with rapt attention. Uchiha Yin was the exception.

Having read the original story, Uchiha Yin probably knew more about Konoha's past Hokage than the instructor did. The lesson did not interest him much.

So he secretly trained instead, refining his chakra.

Kushina Uzumaki, who had been listening intently, noticed what Uchiha Yin was doing.

"Yin, you don't like this kind of lesson?"

Kushina Uzumaki asked curiously.

The Chunin had to be given credit: he taught with real passion. His account of Hashirama Senju bringing the entire Shinobi World to heel was so vivid that it stirred the blood.

Even Kushina Uzumaki felt excited.

This is brainwashing, isn't it? They really do start them young.

But no matter how well the Chunin told the story, he could not erase the image of Hashirama Senju as a complete goofball from Uchiha Yin's mind.

If these students knew what Hashirama Senju was really like, their faith in him would probably crumble.

Uchiha Yin smiled and nodded at Kushina Uzumaki. "I might know this history better than the teacher, so I'm not that interested in hearing it."

"You're joking, right?" Kushina Uzumaki replied quietly, plainly unconvinced.

"Then just pretend I am." Uchiha Yin smiled, unbothered, and went back to training.

After the system had boosted him for no apparent reason yesterday, Uchiha Yin could clearly feel that he had grown stronger, especially in Taijutsu.

What he needed now was to get used to that strength and make it his own.

As for Ninjutsu and genjutsu, he knew neither. His original self had shown little talent and had not paid attention when Uchiha Zhi taught him Ninjutsu. As a result, Uchiha Yin knew no Ninjutsu beyond the Three Basic Techniques.

He did know a few simple Sealing Jutsu, though, such as a soundproof barrier.

So although he had gained chakra of other elemental attributes and the ability to change its nature, neither would noticeably improve his fighting strength for the time being.

When the bell rang, the Chunin instructor finally brought his impassioned lecture to an end.
