Zhi kept smiling, plainly undaunted by Ling.

The moment Danzō received the news, he had left Root's base and come straight to the Hokage Office to demand an answer.

"Don't get worked up, Danzo. Yes, I gave the order. Our teacher took Kagami Uchiha as his student. Why can't I have Tsunade take an Uchiha as hers?"

Hiruzen slowly packed tobacco into his pipe, lit it, took a deep draw, then spoke.

"There was only one Kagami Uchiha. Every other member of the Uchiha Clan is evil."

"Don't you know this boy made contact with the future Jinchūriki yesterday? Before long, the Uchiha Clan could have the Nine-Tails Jinchuriki under their control."

Danzō pressed on, refusing to let it go.

"Enough, Danzo."

Hiruzen's expression turned stern. "The Uchiha Clan is part of Konoha too. We don't need to assume the worst of them."
