Behind him, Wong saw the former star pupil of Kamar-Taj standing before him. His voice held equal parts reproach and relief. "Ryan, where have you been all these years? If you'd been here, we could have found a way to stop Thanos."

Tony had been left out of the conversation, but he didn't take offense.

What puzzled him was that these two had clearly come looking for him, yet now all their attention was on Ryan.

So Tony turned to Ryan too. "They certainly have faith in you."

"We'll only get through this together. Putting all your faith in me won't help." Ryan shook his head, ending the subject.

Besides, now that Strange was here, they could find out what he wanted.

Strange gestured for them to follow and stepped back through the Portal.

Tony watched Ryan enter the Portal too. Trusting him, Tony followed.

The golden Portal slowly closed behind them. Tony's girlfriend stood on the street, watching her man leave without a word.

Beyond the Portal lay a spacious room with old-fashioned decor. Its ceiling rose high above them, unlike the low ceilings of an ordinary home.

Tony looked up at the lofty chandelier. The place felt like a grand hall, with medieval suits of armor displayed along its walls.

A bookshelf stood in one corner, filled with ancient-looking books.

Standing on the wooden floor, Wong told Tony, "This is the New York Sanctum, one of the Sanctums that protect the Blue Planet."

"I didn't know New York had a place like this. Do you pay rent? Taxes?"

"Uh..." Cold sweat beaded on Wong's face. He changed the subject. "We can discuss that later. First, let's talk about Thanos."
