Kaecilius looked past Ryan at the spellbook displayed on the Spell House's shelf. It was the forbidden book he had to obtain at any cost.
It contained the spell for summoning Dormammu from the Dark Dimension. Dormammu had promised Kaecilius that if the summoning succeeded, he would never have to worry about his lifespan again.
So despite his reluctance, Kaecilius had no intention of holding back. He conjured a Magic Spear in his hand.
The transparent spear was hard to spot and had formidable piercing power, making it a deadly weapon in a fight.
Kaecilius had driven spears like it through countless enemies. He believed Ryan would join them.
But Ryan was the most talented Sorcerer Kaecilius had ever met. He did not let down his guard as he advanced slowly.
At the same time, Kaecilius ordered his followers to surround Ryan.
In a cramped space like the Spell House, being surrounded meant facing enemies on every side.
People had limits. They had only two hands. Even if a warrior blocked an attack from the front with a shield, an enemy coming from behind could still kill him in a single strike.
Inside the Spell House, Ryan calmly glanced left and right. The Sorcerers had encircled him like hyenas on the plains.
They were waiting for a chance to strike. Sorcerers had powerful attacks but little defense; one cut from a blade could spill their warm blood and end their lives.
Ryan sighed. He had lost his chance to back up against a wall and gain a more favorable position, so he traced a circle with his finger.
A golden Portal appeared behind him.
Kaecilius grinned. "Running away with your tail between your legs?"
"No. This Portal is the wall at my back." As Ryan explained its purpose, he began
