Background and History

Jiang Xueyao grew up in the main line of the Jiang Household, a thousand-year-old aristocratic clan that regarded her as its future leader. She studied strategy from age three, spent school holidays with the household’s frontier generals from age nine, and joined an army campaign as a protected clerk at twelve. By sixteen, she was handling intelligence and dealings with factions in the Imperial Capital. Her family sent her to high school so she could experience life among her generation, although she rarely attended classes 59 239 247.

She was Jiangbei Commandery’s top high-school student when she met Yang Xiaobing during independent admissions tests. After accepting Song Huaijin’s misleading account of Xu Yuan, she challenged Xu to a sword duel. His performance changed her opinion of him; she later punished Song and Li Tao for their part in the false-letter affair 5 12 14.

The group’s survival during the Border City Battle exam put the Jiang family near a dangerous dispute over the official account of the battle. Jiang rejected her father’s plan to send her away, arguing that continuing school and taking the next exam would better show that the family had nothing to hide. She later sought Lu Yiyi’s help after learning that Lu Chenzhou wanted her named as a prospective consort 43 44 59.

When her father disappeared during a Demon Race invasion, Jiang took charge of Jiangnan Province’s defense. She coordinated household elders, commanders, and regional forces from a protected command center. She later became Head of the Jiang Household 239 439.

She also takes practical steps to protect friends. She checks the company recruiting Xu Yuan, investigates an unexpected meeting offered to him, and openly defends Yang Xiaobing against hostile roommates.
