After all the arguing over this new book, it was finally time for its paid release! Like a major exam, the results would decide the book's fate.
Longtime readers knew that a new book's first-day subscriptions mattered most. Many wonderful books had been forced to end in haste because their initial subscriptions were too low.
This book had actually been placed in the cultivation category from the start. In the original plan, at least early on, the Immortal Realm existed only as a cheat. The focus wouldn't shift there until later...
But it seemed few readers were buying it...
So a few days ago, I hurriedly had a talk with my editor...
And then the book underwent a major overhaul!
I moved basically all the climactic parts to after the paid release, which made the recent chapters feel a little dull.
That was probably why everyone felt the story was too padded and had too much romance...
But the revision had an upside: the pace suddenly picked up after the paid release.
I'd been writing for years, and this book had actually helped me the most. Through it, I'd gradually learned to tell a story and control its pacing, even if I still wasn't perfect...
So I was full of confidence in this book. It should be much better than Six Dynasties!
Even after all those changes.
But with the main plot settled and the setting fleshed out, I wasn't worried the story would fall apart. It would only get more exciting.
As I said, I'd learned how to tell a story!
