When Bai Jin landed, his foot came down on a patch of damp moss.
There was no sky overhead, only layer upon layer of forest. Roots grew upward, treetops hung upside down beneath his feet, and in the distance, a stream hung in midair, its water turning a right angle before flowing on.

Claws descended toward Bai Jin's chest, lower back, and head. The Limitless barrier raised by his First Soul Ring stopped most of the attacks, but three tiny rifts opened inside it first.
Bai Jin twisted away from the strike at his throat and slapped aside the claw aimed at his heart. The last Space Blade grazed his thigh, carving a wound half a foot long.
He slid two steps forward. The moment his soles pressed against the ground, the moss beneath him became a vertical stone wall.

The Void Silver-Eyed Beast's head snapped up, but it shifted a hundred meters away before the full force of the punch could erupt. The remaining force blasted into the trees, cutting a dozen massive trunks clean through at the roots as though an invisible axe had struck them.
