"Ugh."

Dongfang Hao struggled to lift his heavy eyelids. What greeted him was not his familiar, cluttered rental room, but ancient trees towering so high they blotted out the sky, steeped in a primeval aura.

A strange energy, almost thick enough to touch, flowed through the air. It slipped through his pores and into his body, jolting him wide awake.

"Is this... Douluo Continent?"

Dongfang Hao shook his still-foggy head. A faintly excited smile slowly spread across his face.

Half an incense stick ago, he had still been up all night reading Peerless Tang Sect. As for Huo Yuhao, that so-called child of destiny, Dongfang Hao had felt nothing but contempt.

The pain lasted several minutes before slowly ebbing away like the tide.

The instant the last trace of pain vanished, Dongfang Hao's eyes snapped open!

His once-black eyes had turned a dazzling dark gold. Two almost-solid beams of golden light shot from his pupils, burning a pair of deep, charred holes clean through the thick tree before him!

Behind him, the phantom of a huge, majestic golden vertical eye flickered in and out of sight. Terrifying mental pressure, as though it stood above heaven and earth, silently swept outward. Every low-level Soul Beast within several miles collapsed to the ground, trembling.

"So these are... the Golden Eyes?"

Dongfang Hao raised a hand and gently touched the corner of his eye. Feeling the mental power in his mind, now dozens of times stronger than before, he could not suppress his delight.
