Seeing that the two had finished talking, Niu Tian removed the Soundproof Barrier. Tang Wulin and Wang Dong walked over, one behind the other. Wang Dong kept her head down, her face bright red. Tears she had not wiped away trembled with every step.

"Finished talking?"

Tai Tan leaned in and looked at Tang Wulin curiously. He had no idea how Tang Wulin had managed to coax this little tyrant into behaving. She had certainly been nothing like this at the Clear Sky Sect.

Catching Huo Yuhao's glance, Tang Wulin explained with a smile, "That's right. We've cleared up the misunderstanding. My elder brother and I are still good brothers."

Niu Tian and Tai Tan stared at him in disbelief. The two of them had recognized each other, yet they were still playing at this? Had they become addicted to swearing brotherhood?

In truth, they had seen at the academy how much trouble pretty girls attracted. To save herself the hassle, Wang Dong had decided to keep dressing as a boy. They had already sworn brotherhood anyway, so there was no harm in acting like real brothers in front of outsiders.

Huo Yuhao breathed a sigh of relief. Though they had only just sworn brotherhood, he hoped Tang Wulin and Wang Dong could remain on good terms. It had nothing to do with personal gain; he simply wanted to experience the bond between brothers.

"First Dad, Second Dad, I'll remember that you didn't come to school with me."

Wang Dong raised her head and spoke through gritted teeth. They had kept all that from her. She decided she would ignore them for half a day—no, a whole day.

"All right, all right. We'll treat Dong'er to a feast later to make it up to her, okay?"

Niu Tian could tell Wang Dong was no longer angry. He coaxed her with a placating smile.

"A feast, big brother? Really?"

Tai Tan hurried over, delighted. Come to think of it, he had not eaten yet today.

"Oh, get lost."

Exasperated by his glutton of a younger brother, Niu Tian kicked him back several steps, leaving him stumbling.

"Pfft."

Wang Dong finally burst out laughing. Then she felt everyone's eyes on her, and her face grew hot. She tried to shift the conversation to someone else.

"By the way, third brother, how is your Martial Soul Fusion Skill with second brother coming along?"

With the attention turned to Tang Wulin and Huo Yuhao, Wang Dong asked curiously. She had never seen a Martial Soul Fusion Skill before.

"I think it's nearly ready."

Tang Wulin scratched his head, sounding uncertain. His father had told him they only needed to embrace again, summon their Martial Souls, and fuse their Soul Power.

"Shall we try it again, second brother?"

Tang Wulin looked at Huo Yuhao. He wanted to know what their Martial Soul Fusion Skill would do, especially since they both had Twin Martial Souls. If all went as expected, they would have four fusion skills in all.

"Sure."

Huo Yuhao nodded. Their earlier attempt had cost Sister Tian Meng quite a bit, so they ought to see what it had achieved. Even if the skill came to nothing, cycling their Soul Power together would let him cultivate much faster.

"How about this? Use your Martial Soul Fusion Skill on my second brother. Let him experience it firsthand."

Niu Tian stepped behind Tai Tan and pushed him forward, smiling broadly.

"Uh..."

Huo Yuhao hesitated as he watched Tai Tan strike a pose and flex his muscles. He worried the skill might hurt him.

"Don't worry. Uncle Er Ming will be fine," Tang Wulin said, coming over to explain. "He's the second strongest among us—a Titled Douluo!"

A Titled Douluo?

Huo Yuhao's eyes widened. One of the legendary Titled Douluo, standing at the very pinnacle of the continent, was right in front of him.

If he's the second strongest, that big brother of his can't be weak either. Could Mu En be a Soul Douluo? Though having a Soul Douluo guard a dormitory entrance would be extravagant enough.

Huo Yuhao remained lost in speculation until Tang Wulin patted him, bringing him back to his senses.

"My respects, Your Excellency."

Huo Yuhao bowed hurriedly.

"No need, no need. Since you're Dong'er and Wulin's sworn brother, that makes us your uncles too. Don't be so formal."

Niu Tian waved a hand. Something about Huo Yuhao felt off to him, but he could hardly search the boy. Besides, they were at Shrek Academy. Whatever trouble anyone stirred up here would be put down.

"Come on, second brother. Let's try our Martial Soul Fusion Skill."

Tang Wulin sounded excited. A Martial Soul Fusion Skill—he was going to have one too!

Niu Tian had already taken Mu En and Wang Dong to one side. A short distance in front of the two boys, Tai Tan rubbed his hands together, ready for their attack.

Tang Wulin and Huo Yuhao embraced once more.

Tang Wulin circulated his Soul Power and activated Martial Soul Possession. The features of a Soft Bone Rabbit appeared on him, though they differed from an ordinary one, lending him a more imposing air.

To Wang Dong, though, Tang Wulin looked adorable no matter how she saw him. A sudden feeling had led her to take him as a sworn younger brother, only for him to turn out to be her real younger brother. With those two affections layered together, she could hardly have felt closer to him.

Huo Yuhao activated his Spiritual Eyes Martial Soul as well. As their bodies touched, the Soul Power within them rapidly merged, and pale golden light flickered in Huo Yuhao's eyes.

A strange radiance blossomed from them as they embraced. Pink, blue, and gold shifted unpredictably, giving off an unusual fluctuation of Soul Power.

Behind Tang Wulin, the spectral form of a peculiar Soft Bone Rabbit slowly appeared. Stranger still, a fainter figure stood behind the rabbit: a woman with a scorpion-tail braid and a gentle smile, her face suffused with a motherly glow.

"That's—"

Niu Tian and Tai Tan could not help stepping forward. They recognized the woman at once. It was their Sister Xiao Wu.

Behind Huo Yuhao appeared the phantom of a huge vertical eye. It was pale gold overall, but a faint purple gleam shone within its pupil.

The two phantoms slowly drew closer. As they did, the Spiritual Eyes blazed with purple-gold flames, while the Soft Bone Rabbit's eyes grew brighter, taking on a brilliant golden glow.

At last, the two phantoms touched. The Soul Power in both boys was drained in an instant. The phantom Spiritual Eyes vanished completely, while the eyes of the Soft Bone Rabbit phantom became flickering purple-gold flames.

A pink-gold domain spread out fully, enveloping Tai Tan in the blink of an eye.

Inside it, Tai Tan felt a mental attack and emptied his mind, doing his best to rein in his Spiritual Power. In the next instant, endless blood-red light filled his vision. The figure he longed to see day and night was wreathed in raging blood flames, while he could only stand rooted to the spot and roar at the sky, just as he had back then.

Wisps of black flame suddenly appeared on Tai Tan's body. They were the fires of his fury, kindled by the boys' Martial Soul Fusion Skill.

Dozens of illusory pink figures appeared around Tai Tan. The first darted in and locked him down with a grappling technique. Then came the second, the third...

The phantom figures kept striking Tai Tan with grappling techniques, but he seemed oblivious. They tossed his body about like a toy they were fighting over. Yet the flames on him did not die out. They burned fiercer, soon covering him from head to toe.

Tang Wulin finally moved. As though coated in gold paint, he became a golden figure. Pink-gold light coiled around his legs. He pushed off hard, and the ground beneath his feet exploded as he shot toward Tai Tan like a bolt of lightning.

Just as the last pink figure hurled Tai Tan into the air, Tang Wulin drove a tremendous kick into him.

With a muffled thud, Tai Tan flew out of the domain and plunged straight into Sea God Lake.

Tang Wulin landed. Fighting the weakness in his body, he hurried to embrace Huo Yuhao, who had begun to sway.

The two small figures became one again.
