Blue Star, River City!
It was the height of summer, and the sun blazed fiercely outside.
Xiao Ran lounged on his sofa with the air conditioner running, eating chips, drinking cola, and watching the Douluo Continent anime. The story had reached the Heaven Dou Palace Coup.
He watched Tang San turn the tables on Qian Renxue, who had held the upper hand.
"Qian Renxue was such an idiot. Did someone slap a stupidity halo on her? She had everything going for her, and Tang San still managed to turn it around."
"And she fell for the son of the man who killed her father. Heh. That's something else..."
Before he finished speaking, a rift suddenly tore open in the void above his head.
Its depths seemed boundless, glimmering with specks of starlight as though it connected countless planes.
Suddenly!
A blonde woman in a long court gown fell out of the rift. She had a striking figure and an air of mature allure, yet she also radiated an overwhelming sense of holiness.
As luck would have it, she landed squarely on Xiao Ran.
"Ow!"
The impact nearly knocked the breath out of Xiao Ran. His head spun, and waves of sweet fragrance filled his nose, making him even dizzier.
The woman was exceptionally curvy, and landing on him, she felt soft all over. Apart from the sudden blow that had nearly knocked him senseless, he was fine.
Cushioned by her soft body, Xiao Ran had not been hurt at all.
The woman was clearly far stronger than Xiao Ran. She recovered first, shook her head, and surveyed the unfamiliar room with a slight frown and a wary expression.
Then she realized she was lying on top of a man, her legs spread as she straddled him in a duck-sitting position.
A blush rose to her lovely face, which had been somewhat pale.
She clicked her tongue and hurriedly climbed off him.
The woman was not unreasonable. Though he had ended up taking advantage of her, it clearly was not Xiao Ran's fault, so she did not fly into an embarrassed rage.
She hesitated for a moment, then called to Xiao Ran softly, still wary of this stranger.
"Hello? Are you all right?"
"Who are you? Where is this? And why am I here?"
Once she got off him, Xiao Ran drew several deep breaths and soon recovered.
He blinked and focused his eyes.
I must be asleep. Why does it look like the real, living Qian Renxue is standing right in front of me?
Xiao Ran closed his eyes and rubbed them hard.
When he opened them again, Qian Renxue was still there. His eyes widened.
"Q-Q-Q... Qian Renxue!"
"Are you a cosplayer? I have to say, you look just like her. You're practically identical to the real Qian Renxue."
"I hereby declare you first place in the Qian Renxue look-alike contest. Qian Renxue herself comes second."
"But..."
"Even if you're a cosplayer, you can't just barge into someone's home... Oh! One of my friends sent you over to surprise me, right?"
"Come on, tell me who it was. For a Qian Renxue cosplay this perfect, I'd gladly call him my sworn father."
The woman smiled, both delighted and wary. In this strange place, it was reassuring that this young man recognized her.
"You know me? I am Qian Renxue, not a... what was it... cosplayer. What is cosplay, anyway? And what is a look-alike contest?"
"I have nothing to do with your friend. Somehow, I was sucked into a Void Rift. When I came out, I landed on you."
Xiao Ran gave her a look that said, You've got to be kidding me.
He grabbed the open bag of chips beside him, took one out, and popped it into his mouth.
It crunched between his teeth.
"Come on, don't mess with me. Are you going to tell me you crossed over from Douluo Continent? You couldn't fool a grade-schooler with that."
"I admit your impression is convincing, but there's no way you're the real Qian Ren—"
Before he could say the last syllable, Qian Renxue showed him proof. His eyes went wide with disbelief.
Qian Renxue summoned her Martial Soul. Golden light flared, and the phantom of a Four-Winged Angel appeared behind her.
Yellow, yellow, purple, purple, black, black, black. Seven Soul Rings rose one after another beneath her feet, pulsing up and down. The immense pressure they released seemed to freeze the air around them.
Xiao Ran forgot to breathe. He could only stare blankly at the Four-Winged Angel's phantom.
Bathed in golden light, Qian Renxue radiated an inviolable holiness. Her expression solemn, she said with absolute seriousness:
"I truly am from Douluo Continent. The way this place is furnished... well, it's completely different from Douluo Continent. Perhaps this isn't Douluo Continent anymore. In a sense, I really did cross over from there."
"You know me, so you should recognize my Martial Soul. It's the Six-Winged Angel, passed down through the Qian Family. I'm only a Seven-Ring Soul Sage, so just four of its six wings have opened, but that should be enough to prove who I am."
Only after Qian Renxue withdrew her Martial Soul did Xiao Ran start gulping down air.
His eyes were full of shock.
This was not cosplay. This was the real Qian Renxue, Qian Renxue from Douluo Continent, and she had crossed over to Blue Star.
Xiao Ran scratched his head, still struggling to believe it.
"Unbelievable. I've read hundreds of Douluo fanfics, and it's always someone from Blue Star crossing over to Douluo Continent. Why, when it's my turn, does Qian Renxue cross over to Blue Star instead?"
"This is real. I'm not dreaming..."
Seeing that Xiao Ran finally believed her, Qian Renxue leaned forward without realizing it and spoke urgently:
"All right, I've proved I'm Qian Renxue. Now tell me: who are you? Where is this? Why do you know me? Do you know which way Douluo Continent is?"
Xiao Ran took a deep breath and steadied himself. He sat up, his back ramrod straight.
"Hello, Qian Renxue."
"My name is Xiao Ran. This is Blue Star. As for why I know you..."
"You can think of Blue Star as a place in a higher dimension than Douluo Continent. To us on Blue Star, watching your world is like reading a novel or watching an anime."
"We know everything that happens on Douluo Continent."
"I know your name, your background, even your abilities. And it isn't just you. I know all about the others on Douluo Continent too—your grandfather Qian Daoliu, your father Qian Xunji, and your mother Bibi Dong. I know their names and their backgrounds as well."
