Background / History

Bibi Dong is the youngest Titled Douluo of her era and leads Spirit Hall, described as the continent’s foremost Soul Master power 3. She and Yu Xiaogang once loved each other but have since separated; her lingering feelings for him make the livestream’s scripts particularly painful 15 22.

When Bibi Dong is selected to perform alongside Gu Xingzhou, she offers him payment to follow her script choice. She ultimately directs him to choose Emergency Rescue Theater, preferring it to scripts she finds even harder to face 13 15. In its first rescue scene, she is compelled to draw poison from Gu Xingzhou’s foot in a continent-wide broadcast. Her anger gives way to tenderness when he calls her “Mom,” and, within the script, she offers to be his mother after hearing about his orphaned childhood 18 19.

The next scene reverses their roles: Yu Xiaogang attacks Bibi Dong in the scripted scenario, leaving her poisoned and in need of Gu Xingzhou’s treatment. Before he can begin, her biological daughter Qian Renxue arrives 20 22.

Her response to Gu Xingzhou’s appeal to her as a mother reveals a tenderness absent from her public persona. That affection is especially painful for Qian Renxue to witness, because she longs for the same care from Bibi Dong 18 19.
