"I don't want to stay in Class One! With that old hag Zhou Yi around, I'd rather switch classes with Lin Fan."
Disgust flashed in Wang Dong's eyes as she spoke, her face darkening with anger.
Only a guy like Huo Yuhao thought that old hag Zhou Yi was any good. Wang Dong certainly didn't.
The old hag was a sadist. She'd heard from plenty of upperclassmen that Zhou Yi made her students run in heavy iron armor under the blazing sun.
If they failed to finish or went over the time limit, they either had to run again or got expelled. Plenty of students had already been expelled.
If she hadn't reported Zhou Yi with Lin Fan back then, she might have been worked to death. She could even have faced expulsion or been forced to run again.
"All right..."
Huo Yuhao gave an awkward laugh.
He thought Teacher Zhou Yi was pretty good, anyway. She had something special about her.
She was definitely a better teacher than the others.
Wang Dong went back to her bed and packed up her bedding, the luggage in her cabinet, and everything on her desk.
She had brought so much that sorting and packing it all took quite a while.
An hour later.
Wang Dong was panting, but she had finally finished packing. She sat on the edge of the wooden bed to rest.
Before long, she hauled her luggage to Lin Fan's dorm room to become his roommate.
Meanwhile.
Across the room, Huo Yuhao opened his eyes from cultivating his Soul Power. The sight of Wang Dong's stripped bed, empty cabinet, and cleared desk startled him.
"Wang Dong, why have you packed up all your things? What are you doing?"
Wang Dong replied happily:
"I'm changing dorm rooms, Huo Yuhao..."
Huo Yuhao froze, then asked:
"You're changing dorm rooms? Where are you moving to, Wang Dong? Can you tell me?"
Seeing his reaction, Wang Dong couldn't help smiling as she told him:
"I'm moving into Lin Fan's dorm room."
"You're moving into Lin Fan's dorm room!"
Huo Yuhao stared at her in surprise.
"Mm..."
Wang Dong nodded lightly.
With that, she picked up her luggage and walked slowly toward the dorm-room door.
She paused in the doorway, looked back at Huo Yuhao, and spoke softly.
"Goodbye, Huo Yuhao."
Then she strode toward Lin Fan's dorm room.
"Wang Dong is moving into Lin Fan's dorm room..."
Huo Yuhao stared blankly at the doorway Wang Dong had already passed through, confusion churning inside him.
Why was Wang Dong going to Lin Fan's room? Was their dorm room no good? Or was it something wrong with him that had made her leave?
Wang Dong was supposed to be his roommate for the next few years. Now she was leaving just like that, and it made him feel strangely miserable.
No, he had to go over and see for himself. Wang Dong was his best friend.
Meanwhile.
Wang Dong carried her luggage toward Lin Fan's dorm room. The door was open.
She saw Lin Fan sitting at his desk drinking water, then walked in past him.
At the empty bed, she set her heavy luggage on the floor. Once she cleaned the bed, she could put everything in place.
Lin Fan's expression shifted in surprise. Wang Dong had brought even more luggage than he had; he nearly spat out his water.
Lin Fan had hauled enough luggage to look as though he was moving his whole family, while Wang Dong had brought comparatively little.
Like a beggar, she had only a bedsheet, a fairly soft quilt, and some daily necessities.
Compared with Wang Dong, they seemed about evenly matched.
"Lin Fan, I've moved all my luggage over."
Wang Dong spun around happily, planted her hands on her hips, and smiled at Lin Fan.
"I'm your roommate now! We'll be living together for the next few years, so I hope we get along. Can I set a few rules?"
"No, there's no need to stand on ceremony..."
Lin Fan looked at Wang Dong with an awkward smile.
He kept thinking: My lady, you hardly need to stand on ceremony. I'll count myself lucky if you don't set any rules.
You laid down several rules for Huo Yuhao, after all.
At least you don't bully me anymore. Last time, she chased me relentlessly with a shovel, swinging it like an erupting volcano bent on killing me.
If I hadn't dodged, I'd have ended up bedridden and nursing my injuries, even if it didn't kill me.
"All right, I won't set any rules. I should unpack my daily necessities and bedding now."
In high spirits, Wang Dong wiped the sweat from her forehead and looked at the luggage on the floor.
"Wang Dong, why did you bring so much luggage? Even more than me. It's like you're moving your whole family."
Lin Fan couldn't help commenting.
"What did you say?"
Wang Dong's eyes widened as she snapped at him.
"How is this a lot, Lin Fan? This is a normal amount of luggage, okay? Honestly."
"Nothing. It's not much at all."
Lin Fan smiled.
"Forget it. I'm not talking to you anymore. I need to unpack properly."
Wang Dong pouted.
"Wang Dong, let me help! You've got so much... I mean, you look exhausted."
Lin Fan hurriedly corrected himself.
"Yes, please! I'm exhausted. It took me ages to pack everything, and now I have to take it all out again."
Wang Dong blinked at Lin Fan happily as she spoke.
"With you helping, we should be done in a few minutes. Sorry for the trouble, Lin Fan."
"No trouble. You're my roommate now."
Lin Fan replied.
He walked over to Wang Dong, and together they opened her luggage and took out a bedsheet.
They spread it over the bare wooden bed, then put a soft quilt on top.
Wang Dong really did have a lot of luggage. Her things filled the cabinet, startling Lin Fan.
There were still scattered odds and ends. They split the work of arranging them on the desk.
Meanwhile.
Huo Yuhao slowly opened his eyes, ending his Soul Power cultivation. He got off his bed and headed for Lin Fan's dorm room.
He wanted to see for himself why Wang Dong had changed rooms...
A few minutes later.
Wang Dong and Lin Fan finally finished unpacking. The dorm room had become a little cramped.
What had once been an empty room was suddenly packed full.
"Thanks, Lin Fan! Without you, I never would've thought we could get through all that luggage in just a few minutes."
Wang Dong looked over her unpacked belongings, delighted.
"No need to thank me. We're roommates."
Lin Fan brushed the dust from his hands as he answered.
As they spoke, a dark figure suddenly appeared in the doorway. Under the dorm room's light, they could see it was Huo Yuhao.
Huo Yuhao watched the two of them chatting and laughing. Confused and lost, he wondered to himself:
Why hasn't Wang Dong set any rules? Is it really because I'm too weak? Yes! Wang Dong must think I'm not strong enough.
That must be it. She saw how strong Lin Fan is, so she moved into his dorm room.
It's all because I'm too weak to measure up to Lin Fan. If I grow stronger, Wang Dong will definitely come back.
No. I'm wasting too much time.
I have to keep training hard. Then I'll have a chance to surpass Lin Fan, and Wang Dong will come back.
