As Bei Bei spoke, a sudden bolt of lightning tore across the sky.
Then the rain came down in torrents, its furious drops washing every trace of blood from the street into the sewers.
Xuan Zi's stern face flashed into view beneath the lightning.
"Bei Bei, perhaps we brought you into the Shrek Inner Court to cultivate your Soul Power too early. You know nothing about this world."

As Xuan Zi spoke, he reached for Bei Bei's shoulder.
Rain soaked Bei Bei's face. His once-smooth hair hung limp, obscuring his vision.
A smile curved his cold, pale lips as another flash of lightning lit the sky.
"Hahahahahahahaha!"
Bei Bei shook off Xuan Zi's hand and ran deep into the alley.
He sprinted, roaring out his bitter indignation as he went.
The Shrek people who had gathered around moved to chase him, but Xuan Zi raised a hand to stop them.
