The coordinates provided by the Aeldari lay on an utterly unremarkable Barren Planet. It did not even have an Imperial designation on the Star Map, much less any trace of Imperial military activity. Its surface was covered in jagged, pale-purple rocks, pitted and riddled with holes.
The violent winds howling madly across the planet had carved enormous canyons into its rocky surface.
As the Imperium's resident wanderers, the Blood Ravens had seen countless planets across the Milky Way, and the one beneath their feet was clearly abnormal.
The planet had an atmosphere, yet there was no sign of any liquid that could evaporate. Its temperature was stable, leaving no conditions for convection.
Yet the winds here never stopped.
The planet had no Imperial Outpost, nor any survey Outpost belonging to the Adeptus Mechanicus. Nevertheless, Cawl had provided precise coordinates.
The prophecies had revealed what were supposedly ruins, and even strange objects that might have been Necron constructs.
But an orbital scan revealed no likely locations. The coordinates lay deep within a canyon and could not be reached directly, so the team had to establish a temporary landing zone on a stretch of wasteland outside the canyon.
For safety's sake, however, Korn first ordered the accompanying Battle Barge to deploy all the Adeptus Mechanicus automated units aboard.
The Armed Servitors and Automated Battle Servitors reorganized by Iax had been programmed with a swarm system similar to WK-3's.
Their individual intelligence was about as low as it could get, but with an entire legion's worth of them, they could cobble together a single brain.
Armed Servitors and Automated Battle Servitors landed en masse from the transports, then formed up into square formations.
Soon, the reconnaissance reports sent back by the Servitors confirmed the Librarians' prophecies. The Aeldari had appeared.
