Standing just a few hundred meters away, Xerath loudly mocked the attackers for overestimating themselves.

Just as everyone sank into despair, the Bodyguard Robot that had remained at the rear suddenly moved, turning around and assuming a throwing stance.

The few remaining Elatana Armed Sentinels adjusted their positions at the same time. They raised their bodies to staggered heights and aimed their massive weapons at the Lychguard standing at the back of the plaza.

Dull metallic impacts rang out.

The Bodyguard Robot stepped onto the Armed Sentinels' bodies and leaped high into the air, hurling a smaller figure at the same time. Below, the Armed Sentinels fired in unison, their thick, densely packed beams plowing a gap straight through the Necron ranks.

The Lychguard at the rear deftly turned aside, dodging the volley.

Standing farther back, Xerath thought he saw the enemy throw something toward him, but a closer inspection revealed nothing in the air.

For an instant, he even wondered whether his optical sensors had gone too long without calibration.
