To find out where Lion El'Jonson and Dante had gone, Guilliman once again sought out the Second Fleet, which had been operating in Imperium Nihilus.
Marshal Gheydon happened to be returning with the Black Templars fleet, having just finished commanding a support operation.
Besides asking for information, Guilliman also wanted to meet these stubborn Sons of Dorn. They had not seen each other since the crusade began.
They had refused the Primaris reinforcements he had sent, and had even clashed with the Adeptus Custodes responsible for the mission.

Guilliman was the Imperial Regent, as well as the Emperor's "only surviving" son. Faced with his summons, Gheydon had no choice but to comply.
"Marshal Gheydon, the Black Templars' reputation for valor has spread throughout the Imperium. The Heimdel Expeditionary Force's performance in battle has been exemplary. Your courage and spirit of sacrifice are precious assets to the Imperium, and everyone who fights beside you can take pride in them."
Having removed his helmet and dropped to one knee, Gheydon was somewhat taken aback by this immediate praise.
In truth, as the commander of the Black Templars, he had expected Guilliman to come to reprimand him for refusing the Torchbearers and for the clash with the Adeptus Custodes.
"My lord Guilliman, thank you for your praise. You are the sacred manifestation of the Emperor's will. Everything is for the Emperor. We shall give everything until the very last moment, whatever the cost."
"Have you come because of the matter with the Torchbearers fleet? The Black Templars have always been an elite force operating independently.
