As the Enforcer Tanks moved into position, Iax immediately teleported, appearing among the war machines. With no one left to protect, the Bodyguard Robot was free to fight without restraint. Even the Inner Circle veterans seemed fragile before the robot after its many upgrades.
Although their quick reactions kept these Dark Angels veterans from being cut down outright by the Bodyguard Robot's two Particle Oscillation Swords, once they closed in, they discovered that they could not mount an effective counterattack.
Its humanoid frame granted it incredible flexibility, while combat records from a bygone age gave it fighting skills far beyond those of the Black Templars' swordmasters. Its enormous body dodged freely among the flashing blades, and every swing of its Longsword sent any Dark Angel attempting to block flying, sword and all.
Bolter fire was meaningless against the Bodyguard Robot's heavy energy shields.
Two Dark Angels who were a little slower to react as they tried to close in were immediately cut in half.
Seeing his sons fall, Lion El'Jonson roared and blocked the Bodyguard Robot's slash with the Emperor's Shield, then kicked one of his sons aside. Drawing his Longsword with his other hand, he slashed at the robot's ankle joint.

Its arm joint bent backward, turning its Longsword from pointing upward to pointing sideways and down, easily parrying Lion El'Jonson's blade. Then it planted a kick against the Emperor's Shield. The tremendous force sent Lion El'Jonson flying backward.
Belial, Ezekiel, Asmodai, and Azrael all struck at once.
Ezekiel swung his Force Staff, using psychic power to catch Lion El'Jonson. Asmodai swept the Lion Sword toward the Bodyguard Robot's waist, while Belial and Azrael attacked it from behind.
