With the Apocalypse Titan reassembled, the ground forces now had a stable fire support anchor. The transport ship began releasing its other cargo holds.
Several enormous compartments landed on the ground with thunderous crashes.
The remaining cargo holds precisely calculated their spacing and made parallel landings across the plain, using the first cargo container's landing site as their reference point.
The Castellans scattered among the cargo containers activated and emerged first. With help from the Servitors that had landed in the first wave, they released all the troops and began joining the containers together.
Within just a few hours, a massive metal building serving as a field Maintenance Center stood at the landing site on the plain.
The cargo hold floors formed its foundations. The various automated turrets originally intended to clear the landing zone moved along the reoriented compartment shells to the roof of the temporary building, forming small firing positions.
The interior space was used to deploy all manner of repair equipment. Machine intelligence Servitors worked with mechanical arms and bionic hands, while the Castellans positioned the larger machinery.
The Apocalypse Titan stood directly in front of the Maintenance Center. Automated Sentries rapidly assembled on the gently rolling plain, while ranks of Elatana Armed Sentinels and Peltasts formed up behind the Sentinel lines. They organized into groups of 200 Sentinels, 100 Peltasts, and four Armed Sentinels.
All the remaining Armed Sentinels were melee models, organized into special assault units.
It took less than an hour for the 300,000 Automated Battle Servitors to arrange their formations. The troops moved and repositioned as smoothly as flowing water.
Although the Planetary Defence Force troops had heard the announcement that had echoed across the battlefield earlier, they were still somewhat afraid of this intimidating legion of cold machines.
Their unease only deepened
