The Snake-People Tribe's Second "Lord"! Appointed by the Queen

The Snake-People Tribe was hostile to outsiders.

Although positions such as worshipers and guest elders nominally existed, they were rarely granted to anyone.

Guardian Worshiper was the highest-ranking position among the worshipers, even carrying some of an elder's authority.

A Guardian Worshiper could also make proposals, join deliberations, and vote on matters concerning the Snake-People Tribe's development.

Of course, most of the time, the Snake-People Tribe followed Queen's decisions. The elders generally exercised their authority only in her absence.

Beyond that, the resources a Guardian Worshiper could requisition exceeded even those available to many elders.

Even though Medusa had stated beforehand that Chu Zhou's authority would be limited to alchemy.

He would not participate in matters such as the tribe's internal and external development or wars against outsiders.

Even so, this was an exceptionally prestigious position, granted with complete trust and respect.

Under normal circumstances, some of the Snake-People Tribe's leaders would have objected, arguing that appointing him a worshiper was acceptable, but Guardian Worshiper was too much.

Yet even the most hidebound elders raised no objections now. Mo Baxi's fate was right before their eyes, as were the full extent of Chu Zhou's alchemy skills and potential.

Queen had already given the order. If they opposed it and offended Chu Zhou enough for him to bear a grudge, both their own interests and those of their direct descendants would suffer.

If Queen had made this decision, she clearly had no fear that Chu Zhou would harm the Snake-People Tribe. At the very least, the benefits outweighed the risks.

Whether for public or private reasons, silent acceptance was the best choice for both the tribe and themselves.

"Mr. Chu, what do you think?" Seeing that none of the leaders objected, Queen Medusa's eyes flickered with satisfaction.

"Agreed." Chu Zhou nodded.
