Within the shadowy space of his Sea of Consciousness, Tang Wulin's Divine Sense projection faced the enormous golden cage, undaunted by the terrifying pressure radiating from within. He drew a deep breath and calmly looked at the colossal creature coiled inside.
"Thank you for everything these past few days." Tang Wulin's voice was clear and sincere. "Your power may be domineering and steeped in Destruction Aura, but whenever I was trapped in a desperate situation, on the brink of despair, it was your strength that helped me stand again. With that strength, I defeated powerful enemies time and again and protected the people I wanted to protect. I'll never forget that kindness."
His words were like a pebble dropped into a deep pool, stirring an almost imperceptible ripple across the Golden Dragon King's heart, so full of savagery and pride.
The enormous golden dragon inside the cage abruptly raised his head, a flicker of astonishment passing through his crimson slit pupils. His massive body stiffened slightly, and the suffocating Destruction Aura surrounding him actually faltered for an instant.
Throughout his long years of imprisonment, he had heard countless fearful wails and hateful curses, as well as false flattery and greedy pleas. Yet no one had ever said "thank you" to him—a being regarded as the incarnation of calamity and Destruction.
"Thank... me?" An almost imperceptible tremor ran through the Golden Dragon King's voice. Then he violently shook his enormous head, as though trying to cast off that unfamiliar emotion. He opened his jaws and let out a deafening roar, trying to conceal that brief stirring of feeling. "Hmph! Lowly human, have you lost your mind? Do you think you can bear my power so easily? I only feared you were too weak and someone would casually crush you to death.
