Nobunaga Kaguya was still kneeling on the ground, but only his lower half remained there. His upper body had fallen to one side, blood pouring from the severed waist.
Nobunaga Kaguya's eyes were dazed. He stared blankly at his body, severed in two. Only after a moment did the pain arrive, forcing a scream from him. His hands clutched the grass beneath him, but that did nothing to ease his agony.
He had no idea what Ninjutsu that Konoha ninja had used. It was astonishingly fast, and even his Shikotsumyaku had failed to stop it. His body had been cut apart before he even felt the pain. He had never heard of a technique like it.
He reached out in vain, but Nobunaga Kaguya no longer had the strength to merge into the bone spikes. The blood he was losing steadily drained his strength and life. Soon, he would die from blood loss.
"Damn it. To think I'd die in a place like this," Nobunaga Kaguya muttered. "Still, with someone that strong as my final opponent, I have no regrets."
The members of the Kaguya Clan did not fear death. They lived to savor the thrill of battle, especially against powerful opponents. Even if it cost them their lives, they would not regret it. In the future, when the Kaguya Clan rebelled against Kirigakure Ninja Village, not one of them would surrender even after their uprising became hopeless. Instead, they would take down as many enemies as they could. That, too, stemmed from their clan's traditions.
What frustrated Nobunaga Kaguya was dying so young, before he had properly enjoyed the pleasures of battle. What pleased him was that he had fought his enemy to his heart's content, rather than dying of boredom.
Kazemori Masaki saw Nobunaga Kaguya's hand fall still.
