A sudden surge of terror washed away all reason. Zhou Sisi's mind went blank, and her body froze completely.
The man who had appeared on her bed wore a high school uniform. His face had been slashed with a small knife, and beads of blood had congealed at the ends of the cuts.
The man lay on top of Zhou Sisi, pinning her down. Part of his icy body even extended out from beneath her quilt.
His mangled face slowly shifted closer, his pupils twitching wildly. His cracked lips parted little by little, his teeth fell out, and a voice reached Zhou Sisi's ears.
"...You're the fiftieth. The fiftieth to die."
Trembling all over, Zhou Sisi paid no attention to what he was saying. She struggled desperately to break free, but her body felt as though a massive boulder were pinning it down. She could feel bloody filth seeping from her bedding, and her bed seemed to have turned into a giant mouth that wanted to swallow her.
"Who are you? Who are you?!" Shaking her head, Zhou Sisi stretched her neck, trying to get as far from that face as possible. But it pressed against her nose, staring into her eyes.
The mouth, now missing every tooth, opened again. The man's lips writhed like some living thing.
"If you're locked alone in a classroom, you'll die. Some people die as soon as they tell a lie. You all deserve to die. Die, die..."
The uniformed corpse clung to Zhou Sisi, weighing her down, then dissolved into the darkness of the room.
The moment she could move again, Zhou Sisi flung off the quilt and jumped aside. She switched on every light as fast as she could.
"It wasn't a dream. Everything that just happened was definitely real!"
