In the East District, at the end of Queen's Road, a grand charity event was underway in Century Hall.
Outside the windows, dark clouds loomed overhead, and torrential rain ravaged the city. Inside, music and dancing filled the enormous venue, which was packed with the elite of Hanhai's high society.
The transparent glass divided the world in two. Those on either side could see each other, but could never reach one another.
"You can't enter the main hall without an invitation or a staff pass. You can watch from the outer area." A burly security guard stopped Gao Ming and Wan Qiu. They were all ordinary people, yet the guard looked at Gao Ming with utter contempt, as though he thought Gao Ming didn't know his place.
Gao Ming didn't argue with the staff. Taking hold of Wan Qiu, he headed to the outer area, where they concealed themselves among the crowd.
Security at the venue was extremely tight. There was no way to get near Situ An, much less find an opportunity to strike.
