"The Work Log told us to dispose of two children's bodies, and there just happened to be photos of two children in the staff locker."
The photos weren't lying flat inside the locker. They were propped against its inner wall, as though someone had been paying respects to the people in them.
Gao Ming ran to the Supermarket's fresh food section and opened the huge freezers one by one.
"You think the bodies are hidden in the freezers?" The Glasses-Wearing Rookie and Zhu Miaomiao followed him over.
"We haven't seen any blood or smelled anything rotten, so the bodies might have been refrigerated." Gao Ming moved a basket of yogurt aside. He hadn't paid it much attention at first, but when his eyes swept over the production date, he froze. "This was made ten years ago?"
"Ten years ago?" Zhu Miaomiao took the drink, unscrewed the cap, and sniffed it. "It doesn't smell strange. Could it be a printing error?"
Picking up other products at random, Gao Ming discovered that everything in the Supermarket had been produced ten years ago.
"Why is everything here from ten years ago?"
The bell hanging over the Supermarket entrance rang, and the countdown on the electronic display stopped. An old man walked in, bare-chested and holding an undershirt. The downpour had soaked him through, and his skin had turned pale from the water.
"Little Gao! I've come to pay you!" The old man had a buzz cut and a booming voice. That single shout dispelled much of the oppressive atmosphere inside the Supermarket.
Gao Ming and the other two exchanged glances. None of them knew who Little Gao was.
"I'll go check. You two keep looking for the bodies." Zhu Miaomiao hid the Fire Axe behind her back and walked to the side of
