The modern two-story villa had pale beige exterior walls, a dark gray roof, and matching window and door frames, with a neat, orderly layout.
Out front stood a carefully tended lawn, rounded shrubs, and tall, straight trees. Low walls and greenery surrounded the property, with a sweet osmanthus tree planted nearby.
The family of three sat at the dining table. Bai Yuezhen seemed to be in an excellent mood. Qi Shu Yu had called yesterday to say he would come home to see her today and bring his boyfriend along to meet her.
Seeing Bai Yuezhen like this, Qi Ji snorted. "Two men together? How are we supposed to show our faces once our relatives hear about this?"
Bai Yuezhen's expression changed. "That's your problem. I don't care what you say now, but when Shu Yu gets back, watch your mouth."
Qi Jiawang glanced between them. "Mom, Dad's just concerned about Eldest Brother. Isn't that a bit harsh?"
Bai Yuezhen replied coldly, "I'm talking to your father. You have no right to interrupt."
Qi Ji rapped on the table. "Enough!" You're less sensible than a child. Shu Yu turned out this way because you spoiled him."
The doorbell rang. The servant opened the door and happily welcomed the visitors inside.
"Madam, the eldest young master is home."
At that, Bai Yuezhen put down her chopsticks, hurried to the entryway, and wrapped Qi Shu Yu in a tight embrace.
"Shu Yu, I've missed you so much. You've lost weight."
Qi Shu Yu patted her back. "Mom, I'm here to see you now, aren't I?"
Mu Xu Ye handed over his gifts. "Hello, Auntie. I'm Shu Yu's boyfriend. I brought a few gifts for our first meeting. I hope you like them."
Bai Yuezhen accepted the gifts
