Jiang Yang had only read a handful of cultivation manuals and still had only a hazy understanding of the secrets involved.
He knew only that reaching the Purple Mansion realm meant elevating an Immortal Foundation into a divine power, not that divine powers themselves came in different varieties.
Bi Xingjian, at least, was a Foundation Establishment cultivator with decades of cultivation behind him and a direct disciple of Fushu Peak. He had also met many Purple Mansion seniors, so he knew something of these secrets.
Smiling, he explained to Jiang Yang:
"A Dao Trajectory usually contains five Dao References, each representing a different aspect of that Dao Lineage. They don't all belong to a single category; rather, they encompass myriad manifestations. Once they become divine powers, those distinctions emerge."
"There are Spell Divine Powers, formed from spells, and Body Divine Powers, formed from the cultivated body. Then there are the most mysterious and profound of all: Fate Divine Powers, formed from Destiny itself."
Bi Xingjian delivered all of this in one breath, then let Jiang Yang digest it at his own pace.
After Fourth Senior Brother's explanation, Jiang Yang began to understand. As he mulled it over, he gradually noticed the subtle differences between those cultivation manuals.
The Immortal Foundations built through certain methods possessed a variety of wondrous abilities that closely resembled spells. Some even required hand seals to activate, like his senior brother's Jade Marrow Growth.
Once another sort of Immortal Foundation was built, however, descriptions of its uses tended to be obscure. Jiang Yang had only half understood them when he read them; presumably, they reflected the distinctions that would emerge after attaining divine powers.
"What wondrous abilities do divine powers formed from Destiny possess?"
Naturally, Jiang Yang was very curious about such secrets.
