"The Powerhouse Ranking?"
In the Star Dou Great Forest, Long Yichen looked up at the Sky Ranking List. His eyes flickered before he withdrew his gaze.
"Time to head back," he murmured, and his figure vanished.
When he reappeared, he was already lying on a recliner in his courtyard in Heaven Dou City. Golden sunlight shone on him, increasing his strength.
Meanwhile, the miniature sun in the space within his body also radiated blazing light, strengthening him.
Long Yichen glanced at the Sky Ranking List overhead and closed his eyes.
At that moment, he had no idea that Bibi Dong was leading nearly all of Spirit Hall's forces toward the Star Dou Great Forest at top speed, solely to hunt him down.
The golden sun set, and the bright moon hung high.
Night fell.
Cool moonlight spilled over the vast Star Dou Great Forest. All living things rested, and silence reigned.
Even the Soul Masters hunting soul beasts huddled together quietly, without a word.
But a group of uninvited guests arrived outside the Star Dou Great Forest.
It was Bibi Dong and her party.
Martial Soul City was not far from the Star Dou Great Forest, and everyone present was at least a Soul Douluo, capable of flight.
Thus, it took them less than half a day to reach the Star Dou Great Forest.
Bibi Dong looked up at the bright moon, then slowly lowered her head, pointing the Pope's Scepter toward the entrance to the Star Dou Great Forest before her.
"Leave no corner unsearched. Find Long Aotian."
"Yes, Your Holiness!"
Chrysanthemum Douluo and the dozens of other powerhouses answered respectfully, then shot into the Star Dou Great Forest like arrows loosed from their bows, vanishing into the deep, pitch-black forest entrance.
After gazing at the silent Star Dou Great Forest, Bibi Dong soon withdrew her gaze. With a flicker, she appeared in the sky above it.
Looking down over the Star Dou Great Forest, she could see anyone who entered or left. None could escape her eyes.
She murmured coldly:
"As long as you're still in the Star Dou Great Forest, you won't live through tonight.
If you've already left ahead of time, what awaits you is an endless hunt. No one can save you.
Hah. Blame your own overwhelming talent—and the fact that you're still so weak."
Dawn broke.
It was overcast that day, with no sunlight.
A large bed stood in the middle of the courtyard. Long Yichen lay curled beneath the covers, sleeping until he woke naturally that afternoon, then leisurely opened his eyes.
He stretched deeply, got up, and quickly washed before going out for breakfast. Then he strolled toward the bank of Heaven Dou City's Largest River.
Taking a fishing rod and bait from his Storage Soul Tool, he sat by the river and fished at his leisure, as he always did.
This world had no phones, and he found its other forms of entertainment uninteresting. Only fishing gave him a little enjoyment, even though he often came back empty-handed.
"What a boring world. I want to play on my phone."
Long Yichen propped his chin in both hands, staring listlessly at the float on the river.
He summoned the progress bar.
[5.01%]
After glancing at the progress bar, he rolled his eyes and looked up at the sky, where thick dark clouds blocked the sunlight.
Silvery-white radiance welled up deep within Long Yichen's eyes.
Suddenly, fierce winds swept through the previously tranquil world.
A gap tore open in the middle of the heavy clouds overhead, rapidly widening. The dark clouds hovering above Heaven Dou City were blown in every direction by the gale.
Golden sunlight spilled over Heaven Dou City and shone on Long Yichen.
It was an astonishing sight, yet the countless residents of Heaven Dou City seemed utterly accustomed to it.
"Haha, I told you! These clouds would clear by the afternoon at the latest."
A puzzled visitor asked, "Brother, what's going on?"
A resident of Heaven Dou City smiled. "You've only just arrived, so of course you wouldn't know. This strange phenomenon started a year ago. Whenever it's overcast, no matter how hard it rains, it only lasts until the afternoon at most. Then a gale blows in and scatters the clouds."
The visitor marveled, "Something that strange actually happens? Does anyone know why?"
The resident shook his head. "Who knows? The Heaven Dou Imperial Family personally investigated it for ages and found nothing. Maybe some Deity lives in Heaven Dou City. They dislike cloudy weather, so they summon fierce winds to blow the clouds away."
The visitor said, "..."
Blue Tyrant Academy.
Tang San watched the clouds suddenly disperse, his gaze solemn.
"It's happened again. Could a Deity really be living in Heaven Dou City?"
By the River, the silvery-white light faded from Long Yichen's eyes.
He continued watching the shimmering River. His float remained motionless.
Just then, almost imperceptible footsteps sounded behind him.
His ears twitched. Long Yichen did not turn around; instead, the corners of his lips rose slightly.
A pair of warm, soft hands covered his eyes, and a refreshing, delicate fragrance drifted from behind him.
"Guess who?" a woman's pleasantly rich voice asked behind him.
"My guess is an unrivaled beauty—the glory of a nation, lovely as a heavenly immortal, stunning enough to topple cities and kingdoms, with curves in all the right places," Long Yichen said.
"Who could that be? What a difficult guess." The woman's voice sounded noticeably happier.
"It has to be my dear Sister Yuezhu," Long Yichen said without hesitation.
"Since when did I become yours?" the woman huffed playfully, removing her hands.
With his sight restored, Long Yichen grinned at the woman as she walked around in front of him.
"You'll be mine sooner or later."
Her cheeks flushed slightly. She shot Long Yichen a glare, then took a chair, a parasol, and fishing gear from her Storage Soul Tool.
She sat down beside Long Yichen and cast her hook.
"Sister Yuezhu, did you see yesterday's Sky Ranking List?" Long Yichen asked, looking at Qian Renxue.
"Of course I saw it. I'm not blind." Qian Renxue gave him a charming roll of her eyes, then her eyes shifted as she said:
"Every one of the top fifteen Martial Souls on the Douluo Continent is top-tier, but my favorite is the Six-Winged Angel Martial Soul. Which do you like?"
As she spoke, she looked at Long Yichen with anticipation in her eyes.
"Of course my favorite is the Silver Superman Martial Soul," Long Yichen answered without hesitation.
Qian Renxue's expression stiffened. Before she could say anything, Long Yichen continued.
"Sister Yuezhu, not to criticize you, but you really have no eye for quality. How could that Six-Winged Angel Martial Soul possibly compare to the Silver Superman Martial Soul?
It's clearly not even worthy of carrying the Silver Superman Martial Soul's shoes."
Qian Renxue protested, "The Six-Winged Angel Martial Soul isn't as awful as you make it sound, is it? It ranked second, after all."
"Tch." Long Yichen scoffed. "The maximum is ten thousand stars, and the Six-Winged Angel Martial Soul only got a measly ten. It's still a hundred and eight thousand miles from a passing grade. Compared to the ten-thousand-star Silver Superman Martial Soul, it's worlds apart."
Qian Renxue ground her teeth in anger. Her grip on her Fishing Rod tightened until it began to crack under the strain.
"Still, although the Six-Winged Angel Martial Soul can't compare to the Silver Superman Martial Soul, it's plenty powerful on the Douluo Continent.
After all, it naturally comes with a domain, along with innate level 20 Soul Power. You won't find another like it anywhere on the Douluo Continent."
Long Yichen said.
At his words, a smile finally appeared on Qian Renxue's face. Her grip on the fishing rod loosened slightly, stopping it from cracking any further.
But then Long Yichen suddenly shook his head and said:
"Unfortunately, the current inheritor of the Six-Winged Angel Martial Soul isn't too bright."
