Chen Haoran led Wen Ning across most of the campus.
"It's just up ahead."
Chen Haoran pointed at an old building in front of them.

Wen Ning followed Chen Haoran's gaze. Beside the Old Library was a small Pond, not very big, with a few withered yellow leaves floating on its surface.
Several ducks huddled along the bank, dozing. A Pavilion stood beside the Pond, next to a large parasol tree. Someone was sitting inside.
One glance was all Wen Ning needed to know he had found the right person.
A young woman sat there, her long black hair casually tied in a low ponytail, her face bare of makeup.
Behind him, Chen Haoran muttered quietly.
"See? I wasn't lying. She just has this air about her, like she's from a different era than us. Like someone who stepped out of an ancient painting."
Looking at Wang Manman sitting in the Pavilion, Wen Ning said to Chen Haoran,
"That should be her. Thanks."
Chen Haoran glanced at Wang Manman in the Pavilion, then at Wen Ning, his expression saying, You're on your own, bro.
He patted Wen Ning's shoulder and lowered his voice.
"Okay, I'll get going, then. Let's hang out sometime. Take care, bro."
With that, he turned and hurried back the way they had come, glancing over his shoulder after a few steps.
Only after making sure Wang Manman hadn't frozen Wen Ning into an ice sculpture with a single look did he disappear into the parasol tree's green shade, reassured.
