Background / History
Chen Hao was a twenty-two-year-old university graduate when he was transported into Blue Star’s ancient Nine Provinces. His parents had already died, leaving his ten-year-old sister, Chen Siyao, as the family member he most wanted to protect and return to 1 2.
In the Primordial Era, he traveled among legendary beings and attained Void Refinement. His mastery of Space eventually gave the rival Chan and Jie factions a reason to end their long war: both needed his power to migrate to another world. Chen Hao and five other Dao-integrated cultivators opened a portal using Metal, Wood, Water, Fire, Earth, and Space, allowing millions of cultivators to leave 2 365 496 497.
Chen Hao refused to join the migration. He chose to guard the Nine Provinces and seek a return to Siyao rather than pursue immortality in a world without her. A departing diviner gave him the Divination Art, which he mastered over five years. Its answer offered no shortcut home—he had to remain on Blue Star until history reached his original era 2.
His long life connected him to people later remembered as historical or mythical figures. He traveled with the Queen Mother of the West, taught Qin Shi Huang governance and longevity arts, befriended Tang general Feng Changqing, and helped Xiao Wuwang obtain the Frostglory Dao Fruit 8 36 57 409.
Siyao and Yang Wanqing eventually found him in a secluded cave during an outdoor livestream. He proved his identity with a childhood photograph and his ID card, but initially concealed his ancient history behind a story about a Taoist priest rescuing him after a cliff fall 1 2 3.
Appearance
- Youthful face: Siyao initially doubts his identity because he looks too young to be her missing older brother. After his resurrection, he appears approximately twenty-seven or twenty-eight 3 489.
- Tall, slender build: His adult posture is taller and straighter than the thin, stern student Song Xinxue remembers 6 489.
- Sharply defined features: Frequently attracts attention from livestream viewers, university students, shoppers, and fans 6 52 76.
- Restrained presence: Often gives off no visible spiritual-energy fluctuations and appears ordinary even to experienced cultivators 210 314 336.
- Plain clothing: Siyao and Wanqing tease his wardrobe and select new outfits for him during a shopping trip 75 76.
- Concealed deterioration: When his Dao Foundation is shattered and his lifespan nearly exhausted, he uses Transformation Art to hide his aged condition 506.
Personality
Chen Hao is calm, reserved, and largely indifferent to wealth, celebrity, and social rank. He registers an expensive apartment in Siyao’s name, directs that livestream gifts worth more than ten million be donated, and dislikes elaborate receptions or ceremonial treatment 6 28 411.
His emotional restraint is rooted in repeated separation and loss. He has had beloved companions before, but considers relationships with ordinary mortals painful because they cannot last. He recognizes Song Xinxue’s attraction without encouraging it and bluntly rejects other romantic approaches 7 49 52.
Siyao brings out a much warmer side. He cooks for her, listens to her school stories, tolerates affectionate teasing, and gradually becomes more involved in gaming and ordinary family life. She notices that he has become less withdrawn and more like a “living, breathing person” 53 76 100.
As a teacher, he values practical experience over deference. He lets students confront manageable danger while remaining ready to intervene, praises progress sparingly, and withholds distant cultivation knowledge when it would distract them from immediate training 97 209 210 358.
His caution becomes particularly important against superior enemies. He refuses to pursue fleeing Gold-Eaters when he senses a greater presence, and later abandons direct resistance when he realizes the mysterious eye’s Dao authority vastly exceeds his own 452 495.
Abilities & Skills

- Spatial Mirror Technique: Detects the Karma thread sabotaging his passage and traces it to Fu Zhaojie 501.

Body Cultivation and Heavenly Dharma Form

- Pure physical force: Destroys Xiangliu’s nine heads without weapons, spells, talismans, or spiritual-energy attacks 267.

- Regeneration: Repairs shattered bones and uses Water to restore collapsing tissues during battle 460 467.
- Dao-bearing body: His Dao Venerable True Body houses independently circulating Great Daos that support one another 442.
- Limits: A hundred-Way opponent initially overwhelms his defenses; even advanced regeneration does not prevent severe Dao Foundation damage 460 467.
Fire, Water, and Multiple Great Daos
- Fire Domain: Manifests a domain tens of thousands of kilometers across that erases Gold-Eaters’ bodies and spiritual awareness on contact 450.
- Law-condensed weapons: Creates a sword from flame patterns rather than using a physical blade 452.
- Water restoration: Repairs bodily damage while he fights Blind Ancient 467.
- Combined stabilization: Uses Fire, Water, and Space to stabilize his foundation, then rekindles his other five Daos after the mysterious eye’s attack 495.
- Alternating cultivation path: Develops a method of advancing through qi cultivation, integrating a Dao, and then incorporating it into his physical body 442.
- Limits: Stabilizing his damaged foundation does not remove its fractures 495.
Sword Techniques and Purification
- Sword light: Kills the Gu Diao King with a single slash 19 21.
- Sword formations: Destroys an Overlord-class Abyss Demon without leaving his balcony 219.

- Supervised trials: Uses ghost-domain combat, the Australian Abyss, and Penglai formations as training while retaining responsibility for threats beyond his students 97 219 227.
- Individual specialties: Reviews formations, talismans, alchemy, and artifact refining according to each student’s chosen discipline 225 423.
Artifact Refining and Technical Knowledge
- Consciousness-projection equipment: Refines a Boundary Space Stone into a spatial core and builds a helmet that projects Divine Sense into the Training Pavilion 396.
- Production standardization: Documents energy-quenching parameters and infusion rhythms so sufficiently precise Evolvers can replace his personal involvement 416.
- Modern-method assessment: Praises Chase’s Limit Arcana while identifying its limitation to the twelve major meridians 262.
- Energy research: Corrects Professor Li’s spiritual-energy conversion estimate by approximately fifteen percent 269.
- System maintenance: Offers to repair the Formation Spirit supporting Origin World’s instance worlds and Training Pavilion 443.
