With such a lucrative source of income cut off, Ziegler practically hated Randall to death.
And now, someone he hated to his very bones had actually joined this operation. How could that not drive him mad with frustration?
For a moment, his hatred of Randall surged even higher.
Now, neither the sea nor the sky looked right to him. Whatever he looked at, it irritated him.
If he could make a wish right then, he might well have abandoned his dream of becoming Fleet Admiral and wished for Randall to die in an accident instead!
Ziegler stepped forward and gripped the railing.
He suddenly remembered what Fleet Admiral Sengoku had said.
Once this mission was completed, Randall would be given the rank of Vice Admiral outright.
How old was that brat, anyway? He hadn't even finished growing his first hairs!
Ziegler had served in the Navy longer than the boy had been alive!
Yet at such a young age, the kid was already going to become a Vice Admiral! His equal!
And he hadn't accomplished a damn thing. As for strength, how strong could someone that young possibly be?!
Meanwhile, how many years had Ziegler toiled, how many military merits had he earned, and how much blood and sweat had he shed to become a Vice Admiral?
The thought of it filled him with enough jealousy to tear him apart.
That alone eclipsed everything else and drove his hatred of Randall to its peak.
"If only he would die..." Vice Admiral Ziegler muttered to himself.
He certainly didn't want to work with the boy!
